I am currently conducting a survey concerning a new type of reefer, Go Cryo containers can be made available in Europe within 6 to 9 months, all units will be ‘tailor’ made !
This concept is not only more cost effective, but also environmentally friendly.
This has been tried and tested for long period outside of Europe.
Currently the reefers used in Europe run on i.e. fossil fuels i.e. diesel. This hardly allows transport by rail and consequently (versus truck) more costly and also has a negative impact on the environment. The today’s economic crisis & the global warming provides opportunities. These issues can be addressed when switching from a regular reefer running on fossil fuels, to the new model running on recycled CO² (Carbon Dioxide) for the refrigerant. Filling the container with CO² is a simple process and requires little maintenance.
When comparing costs, the new model has many advantages:
• No power hook-ups are required, most ideal for rail transport
• There are no moving parts
• No risk of mechanical breakdowns
• Manufacturing costs are less
• Maintenance costs are less
• No en-route monitoring is necessary
• It can be treated as if it were a dry box, all dry cargo ships are potential carriers.
• It can be used to transport frozen cargo up to 30 days with one charge.
• The system can be recharged for periods beyond 30 days transits
• It does not generate it's own CO²
