Ayjaz is a graduate of Law School, Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S.A., where he had proceeded to do his Master of Laws (L.L.M.),after finishing his formal 16 years of education and successfully earning both a Bachelors of Commerce, in Business Administration (***) as well as a Bachelor’s of Law (L.L.B.) Degrees. These degrees were earned by Ayjaz, while studying in the two very reputable,prestigeous & well known colleges of Karachi, i.e. Saint Patricks College & SM Law College, which are affiliated with the Karachi University, Pakistan.
On entering the commercial world Ayjaz first worked as a legal intern with Justice (Rtd.) Haziqul Khairi for about 6/7 months, before his departure for the U.S. and on graduating from Tulane University, he has also worked as a legal intern for about close to a year, with Roy Tulane & Robert Dewa, renowned Attorneys at Law, in Madison, Wisconsin, U.S.A. & thereafter he returned to Pakistan & joined the leading law firm, with International affiliations, clientele & offices, operating under the name & style of Surridge & Beecheno, Solicitors & Advocates.(He was enrolled with the Lower Courts in Aug, 1978 and became an Advocate of the High Court of Sind + admitted on the rolls of Sind Bar Council in Nov, 1980 ). Here he worked for virtually all relevant Civil Law Practice departments including Conveyancing, Probate, Corporate, Admiralty, Trade Marks and Patients, Immigration, Oil and Gas Concession Negotations + Agreements, Arbitration Matters and Mediation-relatively a very new concept in this country at the time, Foreign Investment advices in the fields of Energy, Power, Defence Production, Registration of Foreign Companies Branch & Liaison Offices and their renewals etc + naturally attending to litigation matters, at the High Court, both before the Registrar as well as assisting his senior colleagues and firm’s partners in the fields of Admiralty, Corporate Cases and Tort / Personal Indemnity matters. After working with Surridge & Beecheno, for a considerable time, Ayjaz also started assisting in his family owned Company The Karachi Company (Pvt.) Ltd, as General Manager Sales & Projects. This was a very well known and most reputable Trading, Indenting and Foreign Technical Representation, limited liability corporation of Pakistan, previously British owned & established in 1962, as a successor of the famous Bombay Company (Pvt.) Ltd, which was established & registered in undivided Sub Continent, as far back as 1886, as a wholly owned subsidiary of famous Scottish Merchant Bankers, M/S Wallace Brothers Holdings Limited. The Karachi Company, had over the years very ably and most successfully represented and rendered all sorts of Technical Sales and After Sales assistance to its foreign Principals/Manufacturers and sold a host of items, both in the Commercial as well as restricted Defence Production Divisions, including but not limited to Viscount Aircrafts, Radars, Railway Rolling Stock & Wagons, Switch Gear and Electric Power Production equipment, Mobile, Truck Mounted and Harbour Mobile Cranes + Bulk Unloaders, Yard & Terminal Container Handling Equipment, Diving Equipment and both above as well as underwater safety, rescue and other types of breathing apparatus/equipment, Traction and Special Purpose Batteries, Oil Field Equipment + a large variety of DEFENCE STORES, besides handling complete projects both in the government as well as the large private Corporate Sectors. On the legal side too he continuously tried to update and better himself by joining is childhood friend who was subsequently elevated to the bench and now is a judge of the High Court of Sindh at Karachi.
Ayjaz however after his friend’s elevation continued with the firm, for some time more and his name kept appearing on their Firm’s profile, while the friend’s wife had taken over the firm’s practice.
Ayjaz finally decided to bid his friend’s firm farewell and has since taken up on his own not only very specialized matters where his advise has been sought both in the Corporate and Government sectors, including going through resumes, meeting candidates and interviewing them, though never specifically or formally trained or havng worked ever before in this line, yet managed to do just fine, whenever called upon to do so + attending to arbitration, mediation, banking and to general civil practice matters advices and opinions thereof, from time to time.
In 1989 however Ayjaz had also set up on the side his own private limited company, under name & style of M/S E.M. International (Pvt.) Ltd and transferred there onto not only all his existing Agencies + Foreign Technical Representations, from The Karachi Company (Pvt.) Ltd, but also managed to get quite a few new agencies for newer products, launching them successfully.
Ayjaz is thus most uniquely qualified to render both advice especially to clients requiring tested, tried and proven knowledge with track record of advices on large projects with practical applications in all Sectors of Business + engage in quality recruiting services of senior staff members for Companies.
