SGS North America has been appointed by the Kenyan Government to provide you with a Pre-Export Verification of Conformity inspection under their mandated PVoC program for the goods listed below. We will ensure that your goods meet or exceed the safety and quality standards as established by the Kenyan authorities. All regulated goods must be certified before leaving the US and SGS can help!
We have received notification that an Import Declaration Form (IDF) has been filed by one of your clients in Kenya for permission to import certain regulated products from your firm. Under Kenyan law, Legal Notice: 78 (Standards Act), you must provide a Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) with your shipment in order for your products to enter Kenya. (Please see the country data sheet for regulated HS codes).
Exceptions:
Your products are not regulated by the Kenya Bureau of Standards.
You have a written and certified exemption from the appropriate Kenyan ministry.
Your shipments’ FOB value is less than $5000 USD.
You are shipping the goods via air courier (Not to be confused with air freight)
If you are a non-profit, aid or donor organization, your goods are not automatically exempt!

If you have not contacted SGS concerning this shipment, please do so at your earliest convenience. We can work with you directly or with your freight forwarder to ensure customs clearance of your goods in Kenya.
We will ask you to fill out and return a Pre-export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) request form as well as Declaration of Conformity (DoC) so we may swiftly perform a product inspection and issue your Certificate of Conformity. We will instruct you as to any additional information that Kenya will require.
