Bangldesh Army At this moment we have urgently required A Marine Propulsion Diesel Engine WITH GEAR complete with all Standard Accessories: TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION OF MARINE PROPULSION ENGINES, GEAR BOXES, PROPELLERS, PROPELLER SHAFTS ETC FOR AN ALUMINIUM ALLOY FIRE FIGHTING SHIP Sl No KSY Requirements YOU WILL FULL FILL WITH YOUR SPECIFICATIONS 1. One in number Aluminium Alloy Ship will be fitted and equipped with 02 (two) in number new light weight, Marine Diesel Propulsion Engines with gear box, control system, stern gear and necessary fittings. The propulsion engine and gear box should be of compact size so that the two engines can be accommodated in the engine room of such a small ship of 15 meter length. The ship’s principal particulars are as follows: Length Over All (LOA) : 15.00 m (approx) Engine Room Length : 8.00 m Breadth (mld) : 4.20 m (approx) Depth (mld) : 2.50 m (approx) Draft (mean) : 1.40 m (approx) Displacement (Full load) : 23.00 ton (approx) Speed (Max) : Not less than 17 knot 2. Scope of Supply.The scope of supply will include 02 (two) new Marine Propulsion Engines complete with flexible (resilient) couplings between engine and reverse reduction gearbox, control and monitoring system, fixed pitch propeller, stern gear, operational equipments etc with all other accessories to install, operate and run the engines satisfactorily. Engine mountings, engine safety shut down system is to be provided. 3. Particulars of engine. a.Brand:YANMAR/CUMMINS/MAN OR Equivalent from the country of origin asmentioned below. b.Type :Four stroke, single acting, inline, turbocharged, electric start, direct injection, fresh water cooled, vertical, allowing 10% overload. c.Model :To be mentioned. d.CountryofOrigin:USA/Japan/EUCountries/Canada/Australia. e.Country of Manufacture :To be mentioned. f.Year of Manufacture :2009 or later. g.Power :500 BHP (Approx). h.RPM :2200 (max). j.Weight :To be mentioned. k.Dimension (LxBxH) :To be mentioned. Height should be lower. l.Number of Cylinder :4~8 (To be mentioned). m.Cooling System :Engine is to be cooled by closed circuit fresh water and fresh water is to be cooled by sea water through heat-exchanger. Engine driven fresh water circulating pump and sea water circulating pump are to be mounted on engine. n.Duty Rating :Intermittent/Medium Continuous. p.Control System. :The Marine Propulsion Engines will be controlled from Engine room and also from the wheel house. Engine ahead, astern and neutral gear indicators are to be supplied. Remote control system from wheel house will include engine stop system (including emergency stop) and speed control clutch on/off. Twin remote control head and control cables (system) for engine and gear boxes are to be supplied and fitted in the wheel house. The control panel is to be equipped with rpm indicator, gear box control lever, emergency engine stop button, different gauges and meters, etc to be fitted in the wheel house. Engine manufacturer’s standard instrument panel is to be provided for fitting in the engine room and also for the wheel house. The system is to be fitted with gauges/meters for fuel oil pressure, gauges for engine lub oil pressure, gauges for Jacket fresh water temperature, gear box lub oil pressure and temperature etc. Engine running hour counter is to be included in the instrument panel. Any other instruments which are required for proper functioning of both the propulsion engines and gear boxes are to be included. q.Engine Starting System : Electric Battery starting system is to be provided. Details is to be provided in the offer. Battery charger (dynamo) for charging the batteries is to be provided. r.Fuel Oil System : To be provided. Details is to be mentioned with fuel oil consumption rate. s.Lub oil System : To be provided. Details is to be mentioned with lub oil consumption rate. t.Lifting Eyes : The engines and gearboxes are to be fitted with lifting eyes. u.Connecting Control Cables: All necessary instrument and control cable along with cable gland and lugs are to be supplied. v.Exhaust System : The following are to be included in the exhaust system: (1) Exhaust bellows (Expansion piece) and elbows. (2) Exhaust Silencer. (3) Joining flanges. (4) Other accessories and fittings-as required. w.Engine Alarm System Engine fault alarm panel is to be provided for alarming and monitoring of the propulsion engine. Engine lub oil low pressure alarm, cooling fresh water high temperature alarm, gear box lub oil low pressure and high temperature alarm and engine over speed (rpm) alarm is to be supplied and fitted. 4. Particulars of Gear Boxes. Engine manufacturer have to select proper gear box with suitable gear ratio compatible and commensurating with propulsion engine horse power. The gear boxes shall be of reverse reduction type complete with flexible couplings between engine and gear box, control panel with required gauges, interconnecting cables and all other accessories for satisfactory installation and operation. Gear box for ahead, astern and neutral positioning with levers are to be provided. Details description of the gearboxes are to be provided. The gear box is to be fitted with standard drilled flanges with the accompanied coupling, bolts, nuts etc. Weight and Dimension (LxBxH) of gear box is to be mentioned. Maintenance schedule for gear box is to be supplied. The gear ratio must be selected matching with the propeller diameter, pitch, number of propeller blade and engine horse power so that the ship can achieve a speed of 17 knot. 5. Propellers. 02 x Propeller (3 or 4 blade) of a suitable diameter (cast solid of manganese bronze/Nickel Aluminium Bronze or any other suitable alloy) are to be supplied. However, propeller manufacturer may select appropriate materials for the propellers. The propeller diameter, number of blade, pitch, BAR, DAR, etc are to be compatible and proportionate with the BHP of each engine. The diameter of the propeller should not be more than 1000 mm due to aft draft restriction of the ship. The propellers will be of fixed pitch type. 6. Propeller Shafts. 02 x propeller shafts (stainless steel) of suitable diameter (90 mm approx) and length 3400 mm (approx) are to be supplied including couplings, cone nuts, bolts, flanges and other fittings as required. Propeller shaft manufacturer will select suitable diameter of the propeller shaft considering engine HP. One end of the shaft will be tapered and fitted with key-way to suit propeller boss/hub and forward end is to be coupled directly to the gear box output flange. Shaft length will be confirmed after getting the length between the gear box leg (propeller end) bolt centre and the aft end of the gear box out put flange. 7. Stern Tubes. 02 x thick walled seamless aluminium alloy stern tubes suitable for the propeller shaft are to be supplied. The stern tube is to be designed for water bath lubrication complete with FWD and AFT bossing (aluminium), FWD and AFT rubber cutless bearing, stuffing box, gland, seals etc. Length of the stern tube will be approximately 2000 mm. 8. A Brackets. ‘A’ bracket boss (hub) made of aluminium alloy with water lubricated bushes of appropriate material is to be supplied. 04 in nos ‘A’- bracket arm of aluminium alloy (size 1800mm x 300mm x 30mm thickness) is to be supplied. 9. Auxiliaries and Accessories. Necessary auxiliaries, tools and accessories as per engine manufacturer’s recommendation required for satisfactory installation, maintenance and operation of the main engines, gearboxes, control system and stern gear are to be supplied. 10. Auxiliary Instruments. All necessary instruments including tachometer, pressure meters and gauges, temperature meters and gauges, engine rpm indicator etc are to be supplied. 11. Monitoring System. Required monitoring and control system (both engine room control and wheel house control) are to be provided. Control panels with safety alarms and monitoring alarms and indication lights are to be provided. 12. Special Tools and Materials. The following tools and spares are to be provided. a. All necessary special service tools (SST) as per manufacturers’ recommendation for any future repair and maintenance of the marine propulsion engine and gear box are to be quoted separately item wise and supplied. b. All necessary special service materials (SSM) as per manufacturers’ recommendation for any future repair and maintenance of the marine propulsion engine and gear box are to be quoted separately item wise and supplied. 13. Information/Data/Manuals. The following manuals and information (data) for marine engine and gear box are to be provided. a. Owners/operators manual in English. b. Workshop/repair manual in English. c. Spare parts catalogue in English. d. Spare parts price catalogue in English. e. Routine maintenance schedules for engine and gear box. f. FAT certificate specifically mentioning the developed horse power at different rpm. g. Combined foundation drawing/installation diagram for marine propulsion engine and gear box. h. Engine and gear box combined footing/ leg diagram (plan view). j. Resilient Mounting Pad height from mounting pad base plate bottom surface to the engine leg bottom surface. k. Horizontal athwartship distance between: (1) Bolt centers of the engine legs towards forward direction of the ship. (2) Bolt centers of the engine legs towards propeller direction of the ship. l. Vertical height between the bottom surface of engine leg and engine sump bottom surface. m. Vertical height between the bottom surface of gearbox leg and gear box sump bottom surface. n. Vertical height between the engine leg bottom surface and gear box leg bottom surface. If not zero, which one is at the lower position and how much? p. Distance from gearbox output flange outer end (propeller end) to the gearbox leg centre bolt (towards propeller side). q. How many legs the engine will have? (i) Towards forward direction of the ship. (ii) Towards propeller direction of the ship. r. How many legs the gear box will have? (i) Towards forward direction of the ship. (ii) Towards propeller direction of the ship. s. What is the angle between the engine crankshaft centerline and the gearbox output flange axis? t. Vertical distance between the gearbox leg bottom surface and the gearbox output flange center point. If not zero, which one is at the lower position and how much? u. Horizontal athwartship distance between (i) Bolt centers of the gear box legs towards forward direction of the ship. (ii) Bolt centers of the gear box legs towards propeller direction of the ship. v. Longitudinal distance between the outermost bolt centers of the engine legs (Length wise). w. Longitudinal distance between the outer most bolt centers of the gearbox legs (Length wise). x. Maximum longitudinal distance between the bolt centers of the engine leg and that of the gearbox leg. y. Is the propulsion engine and gearbox coupled flexibly or rigidly at the out skirt of the engine skin (casing)? z. Whether the gear box will be installed with or without the same size of resilient mounting pad? aa.Vertical distance between the engine leg bottom surface and crank shaft center line. 14. Spare Parts.:Spare parts for trouble free operation for the marine propulsion engine and gear box as per manufacturers’ recommendations are to be quoted item wise separately and supplied. List of fast moving and slow moving spare parts along with item wise price are to be provided. Routine maintenance spares and operational spares required as per manufacturer’s recommendation for maintenance up to three years major overhaul period is to be quoted item wise separately and is to be supplied. 15. FactoryTestCertificate.:Manufacturers’ factory acceptance test (FAT) certificate for marine propulsion engines and gear boxes are to be provided as per the manufacturers standard FAT procedures. Purchaser’s representative consisting of 2 to 3 members will attend the factory premises during FAT. In this regard, international travel cost will be borne by Khulna Shipyard. 16. InstallationKits/Materials.:Necessary control cables, installation kits/tools, foundation bolts, torque wrenches, special wrenches, etc as required for mounting and dismounting of the marine engines, gearboxes and stern gears are to be supplied. 17. Test-Trial and Commissioning. Final stage checking of the engine installation work and on site commissioning of marine propulsion engine and gear box are to be carried out by suppliers technical expert (s). On completion of installation of supplied machinery and equipment on board the ship, trials will be carried out by Khulna Shipyard (KSY) in harbour and at river in presence of the engine supplier’s representative. The propulsion plant will be tested at various operating conditions to ascertain the performance of the engines and propulsion system. On completion of the test-trial, an acceptance certificate will be signed between KSY and supplier’s representative. 18. Warranty of Supplied Items. Warranty have to be provided by the supplier for repair/replacement in Bangladesh at supplier’s cost for the propulsion engines, control system, gear boxes, stern gears and other associated machinery/equipment for a minimum period of 12 months after satisfactory test-trial and acceptance by the end user. 19. Training. 01 (one) week training for the ship’s crews on repair, maintenance and trouble shooting including other related topics by the supplier’s representative is to be provided at KSY premises. 20. The bidder is requested to provide their detailed Technical Specification of their quoted machinery, equipment and items maintaining the serial number mentioned above. 21. Class Certificate: The engines have to be tested and certified by any international classification society. So we will earnestly request to you please arrange to send your Quotation total CFR Value by sea chittagong / Mongla through E-mail & Original , Original Catalogs, Company Brochure & other related Certificate through any faster courier services .
