I purchased the above generator off you 24/11/2009 Tax invoice no 00004316 Order no K Gould
To date it has run approximately 30 hours.
I have two problems.
1. The fuel tap/filter assembly leaks from the tap. Can you please
advise cost of a new filter unit or whether it is repairable?
2. Two weeks ago the generator was operating normally and had been
going about an hour when it suddenly slowed and began running roughly
with a great deal of black smoke. Very similar to a petrol engine
running on full choke. Can you please advise what might be wrong and
how I night fix it or, where I might find a qualified repairer in
Hamilton?
In an attempt to rectify the problem myself, I changed the oil and
cleaned the engine filter. I also removed the injector and ensured
the fuel was correctly being atomised from the 4 injector orifices. I
also refreshed the diesel fuel and put in some injector cleaner and
bled the fuel system.
This has made no difference to the rough running and smoke.
