Test Criteria of Ballistic Steel Plates:
a) Chemical Composition of materials
b) Mechanical Properties
c) Physical Properties
d) Sample of material with size: 2’ x 2’ at no cost no obligation basis.
e) There should be no warp age in plate and flatness tolerance of 12mm maximum is acceptable.
f) The ballistic steel to be provided must be pre coated with anti oxide paint/coating so that no further pre processing/grinding for smooth finish is required us.
g) The ballistic steel provided should be free of rust, corrosion, erosion and pitting.
h) The firm may intimate quote of standard production size, if the size mentioned in requirement is note available.
i) The firm must provide the certificate (from internationally accredited lab) stating about the qualification of B6 Level of protection
j) The firm must provide technical data including the welding & bending techniques from the manufacturer. The sample will be ballistically tested duly bent and with weld on sample plate. The bent sample with welding must qualify B6 level of protection.
k) The firm should clearly provide the rolling direction of Ballistic steel plates, whether the rolling direction is length wise 6000mm or side wise 1500mm. The rolling direction should preferable be width wise ie 1500mm. The plates should be easy to bend.
l) The Ballistic steel should be branded one produced specifically for Ballistic Protection purpose. A certificate to this effect will be required.
m) The ballistic plates should have 6.5mm thick maximum (Preferably less) equivalent to B6 Protection Level. The ballistic steel must qualify UK Def Standard 95-24 or MIL-A-46100D(MR)
