Dear Joseph,
We are a food packaging company utilising PET within our production. Currently we cannot utilise all
of our material in stock. Therefore we are looking for potential buyers of PET flakes. I found your company
on the internet and would like to enquire whether you would be interested in receiving some samples.
The material in question is APET sheet grade regrind
Some of the APET is pure, but most of it has been prepared with a laminate film on it
Typically, the laminate film represents 8% of the total weight (6-10)
The laminate film is mainly PE, with some EVA and minor amounts of EVOH and PA
These will be in the region of 3% of the film weight (therefore 0.25 % of total weight)
The flake is packed in woven PP bags each holding 800 -1000 kg of flake
The flake is ground through a 8 mm screen although there will be a few larger pieces of 12-15 mm size and also some fines at 2-3 mm
Some bags will have a single colour of flake inside, some will contain mixed colours
In our own experience the flake extrudes nicely to form a good quality sheet.
However you do need to have suitable equipment that can handle the flake with its PE coating without it clumping together as it's dried.
As for prices, the material is currently in Spain and we are looking at about 150 Euros per ton ex works. If you are interested we would also be able to provide you with extruded PET sheet from the material above but for that I would need to get a price from our production.
If you are interested, I would be happy to discuss further business with you.
Kind regards,
Birger Schmidt
