Dear Sir/Madam,
This e-mail is a follow up to a letter sent out on the 15th of May addressed to Hansjorg Patscheider, to which we are yet to receive a response.
DHL’s Environmental Compliance Solutions have been appointed to act on behalf of Aldi Limited, in collecting and collating packaging weight information. Aldi Limited, is required to calculate the amount of packaging it handles on an annual basis by material type (i.e. paper, plastic, glass, aluminium, steel and wood). This data is required to enable Aldi Limited to fully comply with the reporting requirements of the Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2007.
Please note that the packaging data we are gathering is for any products you have supplied to Aldi in 2007 and 2008, to date and needs to be split down in the following way on an individual product basis:
Primary packaging: The packaging (material type and weight) around the product that the end user buys/ the individual unit as sold to the customer.
Secondary packaging: The packaging (material type and weight) around the stocking unit, usually the unit of sale from the manufacturer, i.e. 6 consumer units in a box.
Transit: This is the number of units on a pallet and any associated packaging, i.e. 60 secondary units on pallet , 300 gms of shrink-wrap.
Should you need to add any weights into "Other", please specify the material used.
I can e-mail a spreadsheet which can be used to provide the data, or just to clarify the type of data we require.
The information is needed quite urgently although there is no specified "Deadline" we request information is returned as soon as reasonably possible. Many thanks in advance for your cooperation.
If you have any questions or require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.
