inquiry to Instant LP hot water heater

I'm looking at your small 1.4 gal/min. heater for use in a camp. 1. Does it ignite when it detects water flow? Or would I have to light it? 2. I see your specs say flow rate is 0.8 GPM at 40Deg. F incoming water. If my water temp is 32+ to 36 F what would the flow be? Our camp is spring fed in northern Pa. Thanks.
