The Atelier Gessos Maceiro is a family company founded at the end of XVIII century, exactly in 1790. The company it is specialized in the art of the preservation and restorations of interior decorations in plaster (Stucco) and it make part of its patrimony a large quantity of originals plaster pieces and a vast written documentation. This artistic, cultural and historical inheritance is important, not only to testify the creation and the work which characterized certain times of our history, but also because they are elements that carried with them an important spiritual message from the past. The know-how, the techniques and the plaster work methods as passed from generation to generation, making the Atelier Gessos Maceiro one of the oldest companies of Portugal and probably of Europe, in this speciality.
