| About us | Capstan Trading was established in 2002. The company is Black Woman Owned (BWO), and a youth empowerment initiative, which seeks to empower black emerging entrepreneurs. Capstan Trading is a closed corporation company, which involves hugely the youth, who are skilled, semi-skilled and others in labour activities. Mission Our Mission is to satisfy our customers, personalized service to ensure that every project becomes the project of the year. Motivation for Establishment Capstan Trading is created as a platform for Youth Empowerment programs. Youth Empowerment is addressed in terms of affording the youth opportunities to practice the professions i.e. Project Management, Bricklaying, Painting, Carpentry and Consulting. Skills enhancement and financial enhancement are the two key areas for youth development. Company Objectives The company objectives are as follows:- -To create a platform for the youth to practice their professions and earn a living/sustenance income -To engage community members in our projects, as a means to reduce poverty amongst needy communities -To provide a professional and cost effective service to communities. -To improve family life by engaging mostly women in our projects Our Main Specialities Capstan Trading provides the following: -Project Management and consulting -Construction -Civil Engineering Works -Property Management -Property Maintenance -Plant Hire SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Our policy is to offer one student who is interested and presently engaged in studies that are in line with our project an opportunity to be hands on the project under supervision, and that at the end of the project we pay 25% towards his/her tuition. EMPLOYMENT EQUITY POLICY Capstan Trading operates from previously disadvantaged communities, and as a result the historical background of each area is an important component of our operation. An environment is created wherein all interested parties are consulted to accumulate information on how to further help address unemployment in the area. Capstan Trading prides itself for employing people on transparent basis. The ratio of men to women is primary. OUR STRENGTH Over the time, we have managed to identify companies to co-operate with , in terms of project management i.e. skills sharing and sub-contracting on certain services. AFFILIATIONS Capstan Trading is an affiliate member of South African Youth Chamber of Commerce (SAYCC) and a member of National Federated Chamber of Commerce (NAFCOC). FUTURE PLANS -To increase our workmanship to 24 youths. -Build capacity to handle bigger projects -To affiliate with organizations that are relevantly attached to the kind of services we provide. -To encapsulate training programs to our services |
