Corporacion Miski S. A.
About us | During 1999, miski expanded beyond its uniquely agricultural activities and installed its first milling plant, located in the city of lima. Along with the new plant, we established a procurement system for obtaining raw materials through a base of sowing contracts with farmers throughout the entire country. For many years, miski has occupied first place in exportation of paprika from peru. Its growth has risen from 1,678 metric tons (mt) exported in 2002 to 3,428 MT in 2004. Its projection for 2005 is 7,500 MT, maintaining its ability to double annually its exports. In 2005, miski acquired a new processing plant. The new plant, located in the industrial zone of lima, occupies an area of 12,000 square meters and is in a constant process of improvement. In that plant, more than 1,000 kilos per hour are processed and its production rate is projected to increase through 2006. The miski family includes almost 200 people in lima and in its three collecting agencies located in viru, nazca and tacna. Likewise, there are five hundred farmers collaborating with miski; those farmers represent 2,500 hectares of capsicums located along the peruvian coast. Miski is an agro-industrial company which produces food ingredients, principally capsicums. It develops, gathers, processes, and sells to different international markets the production from 2,500 hectares of paprika of different varieties, sowed along the whole coast of peru. Its production is at present oriented principally for European and American spice markets, with different products and specifications for each. Miski produces diverse qualities of milled paprika, attending to a large demand with a wide range of specifications relating to color, grain, and microbiological conditions, among others. Miski exports whole paprika of high color or other presentations and products such as paprika flakes, milled and smoked whole paprika, paprika pellets, and a great variety of capsicum products made according to the clients requests. Miski is the main producting and exporting company of paprika in peru. In 2004, the company initiated a cultivation diversification program for capsicums and created a production program for spicy capsicums (e. G. Chilis and others) for the mexican market inside and outside of Mexico. Inside this program an initial, important offer in guajillo, ancho, jalapenos, chipotles and moritas is foreseen, available from mid-2005. Our products are developed and produced within a continuous quality control program. This program begins with the selection of seed, and continues with guidance and supervision of the farmer during the whole cultivation process through technical assistance and the control of the use of suitable pesticides and good practices in crop and post-crop handling. The process ends with suitable control of appearance and quality of the product arriving to our warehouses, confirming the quality standards during the entire industrial process result in suitable products. Our mission is to be the main exporter of capsicums in latin America, having a committed and diversified base of clients and providers. Our vision is to achieve compliance with our strict quality standards in all products and services, having processes of procurement, storage, processing, production, wrapping and transport that exceed the assigned goals and specifications. For the permanent achievement of quality we are committed to the investigation and development of products and processes and the constant training and continuous improvement of our human resources. |
