About us |
The image processing research group (gpi - "grupo de processamento de imagens" in portuguese) was founded in 2000 by prof. Fatima sombra, phd, at the federal university of ceara after the return from her doctorate in the cybernetic vision research group (cvrg) at the university of sao paulo. Our large motivation on beggining a research group in digital images with multidiscipline approach in this present and challenging area is related to the beginner state in our region. Our main aim is that our research activities converge to the generation of knowledge in science and technology with effective transference at right time for the others sectors of society. Since its foundation, the research group has counted on the financing from cnpq, funcap and ufc for its structure and maintenance. On the present days, the research group counts with undergraduate and postgraduate students in teleinformatics and electrical engineers involved in diverse research lines related to gpi. Our research group counts with the beneficial collaboration from the professors nelson d. A. Mascarenhas, phd, and luciano da fontoura costa, phd, and the others members from cvrg-usp.
