| About us | Golden Dragon Brewing Company Limited (hereafter referred to as GDBC) is a proposed brewery to be located in the Chon Buri Province of Thailand. GDBC will seek profit from the Southeast Asian beverage market by means of manufacturing craft beer for consumption in the region and acting as an importer for commercial alcoholic beverage producers that would like to venture into the Thai beverage market. The craft beer industry is very attractive for new business investment. Aggregate market factors such as growth and profitability are overwhelmingly favorable. Thailand's industrial and environmental factors (e.g. competition, market growth, regulatory restrictions, social attitudes, government promotion of new investments, and recent removal of monopoly restrictions) make Thailand arguably the best location in the world for a small craft beer manufacture. The growth in the number of breweries in recent years has caused many advances in small-scale technology allowing smaller breweries to manufacture beers that are often better tasting than beers produced by larger breweries while maintaining quality, consistency and per unit production cost to commercial standards. Because of 100% import tax before 100% excise and 7% VAT taxes; foreign beers often cost three to four times as much as domestic beers in Thailand. GDBC will sell its beers for a higher price than other domestic breweries, as beers produced by the company are to import standards and marketed as craft beers. The market share goal is 0.25% by year 2004. This may sound like a small percentage but to reach this goal it will require that GDBC produce, package, and sale over 10,500,000 standard size beers and also have a production capacity 10 times larger than the proposed initial capacity. |
