Italit Construction & Development Corp.
About us | From its establishment in 1976, Italit has succeeded in capturing an ever-growing share of the local pipe market. Early on, Italit had as its most valued clients such leading private developers as the Ayala Corporation, Ortigas & Co. Ltd. Partnership, the Makati Development Corporation, Laguna Estates Development Corp. (LEDC) and B.C. Regalado & Co., having supplied their New Alabang Village, Greenmeadows, Canlubang Estates, Fairview Park, and other development projects. Apart from these private developers, Italit moreover regularly supplied the various pipe requirements of such government agencies as the Metropolitan Waterworks & Sewerage System (MWSS), the Local Waterworks Utilities Administration (LWUA), the National Housing Authority (NHA), and the Barangay Water Program of the then Ministry of Local Government. With the addition of uPVC, steel, polyethylene, and polybutylene pipes to its product line, Italit became a regular supplier to more leading private developers, adding such names as Fil-Estate Realty & Development Corp., Fil-invest, Household Development Corp., Palmera Homes, and V.V. Soliven to its distinguished clients list. For larger-diameter steel pipes, Italit has for its clients such contractors as the Foundation Specialists, E. Ramos Construction, Ember Corporation, Advanced Foundation, Andrada Construction, the First United Constructors Corporation, Metaphil, Inc., C & A Construction, D.M. Consunji, Inc. (DMCI), J.V. Angeles Construction, International Water Contractors, Toyo Construction, and Tomen Corporation mostly for bridges, water, gas, and oil lines built by these companies for such government agencies as the Department of Public Works & Highways (DPWH), the National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR), the MWSS, the LWUA, and the Export Processing Zone Authority (EPZA). Other regular clients for Italit steel pipes include Caltex, Inc., Maricalum Mining Corp., and sugar mills such as the Central Azucarera de Bais, the Central Azucarera de la Carlota, and the Busco Sugar Milling Corp. Another market of which Italit is getting an increasing share is that for smaller-diameter pipes used mainly for in-house water supply and sanitary lines for both commercial and residential buildings. Among the more notable buildings with pipelines supplied by Italit include the Renaissance, the Shangri-la Plaza, and the QUAD. Proof of Italit's continuous growth is its ever-increasing sales volume and market share. From 1989 to 1992, for instance, gross sales grew from PhP64,946,939.17 to approximately PhP101,678,065.80. Consequently, raw material purchases have similarly increased, from PhP 35,716457.15 in 1989 to PhP 63,166,183.74 in 1992. And as most of these raw materials--PVC resin and hot-rolled steel coils--plus spare parts and machinery need to be imported, credit facilities offered by local banks have proven invaluable to Italit's growth. |
