About us |
Our company is Marz Dua and the name of our shop is "gerobok" the old malay word for cupboard. This company started off as a hobby that Ki and Zu (husband and wife) has been involved in since the day they got married. Ki and Zu are genuine lovers to antique and old stuff. They travelled extensively during their working and leisure years collecting old stuff and filled up their house with it. Somehow rather, since a couple of years ago, they came up with the idea to focus in collecting old malaya and colonial furniture and stuff to include in their collections. Since then, they found that there are so many old stuff whereby some are very historical that people just don't bother to keep, care and appreciate. Malaysia has come a long way since her indipendence day, in fact Malaya was found back in year 1511, and was under the colonization of the dutch, portugese, british, japanese and back to british before its indipendence in 1957. THe multi-racial group living in this country has contributed extensively towards its culture, and living style and status. Thus, this contribution resulted in many 'malaysian family' being left behind with assets and collectable items and goods. With this in mind, our when "Gerobok" was being set up as a company we want to try as much as possible, securing and retrieving all these abandoned family belongings and restoring them to their best condition. Our collections are very unique and for those who are enthusiast collectors of old stuff, you will find our 'stuff' very unique, interesting, quality finished and at a very reasonable and competitive prices. We believe by doing this, the old stuff can be at the hands of genuine collectors to care for them for the next 100 years, perhaps.... |
