We are an indoor tanning facility began in Sept.2002 by my husband, myself and my niece. My husband and I both continued to work full-time at our jobs until June 2005, when I decided to leave my job as a nurse. This decision was based on the fact that our business had grown so quickly, it was impossible to train sales staff after-hours. In Dec. Of 2004, we expanded our 1000 sq ft tanning salon, adding an additonal 1100 sq ft for total 2100 sq ft. Thus allowing us to add a retail clothing area. This was to help offset the highly seasonal tanning salon. Our business is in a small community with only JCP & Mervyns available to purchase clothing. Our customers were traveling 1+ hours to purchase designer & contemporary clothing. Also, there is no other place to purchase swimwear in the off-months, which our tanning customers wanted for the winter travel. This is a niche we were happy to fill. |
