| About us | Vitalfinds began in January 2003, initially selling paper patterns on ebay which focused on the woodcraft and hobby market. My first sale was an international sale with a customer in the Netherlands wishing to buy "Retro Snails, " a 10-pattern pack that I had designed to be used with the making of small crafts. Sales quickly followed of other animal pattern packs, and requests began to come in. I learned that my customers were buying these patterns for a wide variety of uses, but already were having some trouble with the non-scalability factor of paper, so I decided at that point to switch to carrying all CD's. From there, I began to make new animal CD's as fast as I would get the requests, and eventually had to break apart certain categories, such as Rodents, and focus on each individual animal. The reason that I began with animals was simple - I had an animal loving customer that had a lot of requests! Once I had good coverage in the animal category, I began to work on another idea. The home decor CD's began and continued as I analyzed possible decorating ideas for my own home. The home theater CD was one of the first, since, oddly enough, that's the room that hubby wanted to start with in our new home. From there, since it happened to be the spring, I began working on decorating my deck, and produced a deck CD. Once the decorating CD's hit the market, I began to receive as many requests for different decor cd's as I had with the animals. Somewhere in the midst of this, I also began to develop some People clipart CD's. The first was requested by a caricature artist and was my "Career" CD, which includes many different images of people in various careers. Requests for people clipart included various sports, hobbies, races, personality types, religions, and different image styles (such as silhouettes). It's hard to believe now that I have sold over 2,000 CD's in the past year or so, but that's just the beginning! I recently sat down and brainstormed for new CD title ideas and came up with a list long enough to keep me occupied for at least another year, just with developing new products, and of course the best sellers will keep right on being offered. The image collection to date, in fact, is over 160 CD's in total. This is my third try at forming a business, and they say that the third time is the charm, and it looks like it is. My first two business were based on images, patterns and woodcraft plans, so this has all built on itself, and I'm now in business to stay. Up to this point, most of my sales have been made through ebay. I have achieved and maintain "PowerSeller" status with ebay, but my current goal is to encourage customers to purchase CD's directly from this site. As an added incentive, all items are at least a dollar less than on ebay. I hope you will enjoy searching this site. Feel free to ask any questions and make any suggestions that come to mind. |
