Brown Corundum - 0002

Brown Corundum is aluminum oxide that has been heated to temperatures above 1,650° C (3,000° F). Composed of tablet like crystals, it has high heat capacity and thermal conductivity as well as exceptional strength and volume stability at high temperatures. Its most significant use is in the production of aluminium metal, it is also used as an abrasive owing to its hardness and as a refractory material owing to its high melting point.
