DOSAGE FORM: Effervescent tablets.
PRESENTATION: Box of 1 tube x 10 effervescent tablets.
ACTIONS: Davita Bone including Calcium and Vitamin D is used to prevent osteoporosis. Calcium particularly plays an important role in bone - teeth formation, hematopexis, signal transmission activities of cells, and muscular contraction. Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the human body. Ninety nine percent of calcium is stored in bones and teeth. The sufficient absorption of calcium restrains risks of osteoporosis. Vitamin D is a pre-hormone, makes metabolites acting as hormones. The main function of vitamin D is to increase calcium absorption in intestine and carry out bone formation and bone mineralization normally.
INDICATIONS: Prevention and treatment of osteoporosis in subjects with high risks: women aged over 30 years, the elderly, smokers, and alcoholics.
Prevention and treatment of osteomalacia.
Supplement of calcium and vitamin D demands for pregnant and breast-feeding women, children and adolescents during the growth phase.

Hypercalcaemia. Severe renal impairment, renal calculus.
PRECAUTIONS: Use with caution in individuals receiving a salt-free diet.
Mild or moderate renal impairment or a history of renal calculus.
INTERACTIONS: Tetracycline, flour, estramustine, biphosphonate, phenytoin, quinolone prevent calcium absorption; therefore, do not take Davita Bone within 3 hours before or after using the above drugs.
Thiazide diuretics reduce the elimination of calciuria, induce risk of hypercalcaemia. Concurrent use of high-dose calcium and digitalis increases risk of cardiataxia.
ADVERSE EFFECTS: Rarely: gastrointestinal disturbances (constipation, indigestion, diarrhoea).
Inform your physician about any adverse effects occur during the treatment.
OVERDOSAGE: Blood calcium concentration of over 2.6 mmol/ l (10.5 mg/ 100 ml) is considered hypercalcaemia.
Patients with no clinical manifestations and normal renal function should discontinue the calcium-containing drugs.
Blood calcium concentration of over 2.9 mmol/ l (120 mg/ 100 ml) must apply the following methods: Perfusion by intravenous infusion with sodium chloride 0.9%; compulsory diuretic by furosemide or ethacrynic acid. Observe the blood potassium and magnesium concentrations and replace the blood early to prevent complications during the therapy. Monitor the cardiogram and possibly use beta-blockers to prevent severe cardiataxia. Determine the blood calcium level at the given time in order to orient the therapy method.
