In 1963 Bintang Agung was established in Padalarang near Bandung the

capital of west Java. At that time the company employed only 150

workers with production volume of mere 160,000 meters per month.

In 1974 and 1975 Bintang Agung constructed the new factory on 20

hectares of land at Ujung Berung, Bandung. Production capacity

increased rapidly to 700,000 meters per month supported by new

weaving and dyeing/finishing department. The production line included

100% spun viscose/rayon. 100% cotton and polyester/cotton blend

shirting and suiting fabrics.

From 1975 to 1995 Bintang Agung new production facilities for sheeting,

corduroy and denim. A new spinning mill was commissioned on a 14

hectares opposite the site of the current weaving, dyeing/finishing and

printing mill.

On going investment and development programs have made Bintang

Agung a vertically integrated textile mill with a monthly production

capacity in excess of 4,000,000 linear meters per month.
