About us | In October,1992, Chemsteel took over Daehan App Co. Ltd. A synthetic resin factory in Ulsan petrochemical complex. It then began to manufacture adhesive industrials and waterproof materials such as APP(Atactic Polypropylene) and HEX(High Density Polypropylene). Domestic sales and full-scale export commenced subsequently. In 1993, Chemsteel expanded business to steel, nonferrous metals, marble and machinery. It made a profit of 10 million dollars in export. In 1994, it rose up to 20 million dollars in export and won the Seoktop Industry Medal on Korean Export Day. With the acquisition of the know-how and self-confidence of steel and nonferrous products, Chemsteel entered the distribution market for steel and machinery in 1995. On the basis of that, it received the official approval to branch out for Inchon Iron&Steel Co. Ltd. And expanded domestic sales including steel products. In May,1997, the Mullae Branch opened to cover stainless steel products. Chemsteel is now proving itself to be a superior steel distribution company. Chemsteel took over Daerim Chemicals Co. Ltd. A manufacturer of calcium carbonate compounds(CALPET), in February,1997. The Chungdo Branch was set up subsequently and it is now being operated as a successful chemical producing company. Chemsteel set about cyber trading in 1999. On the basis of the domestic portal site,, it became the first company to perform cyber exportation. It has been strengthen the internet trading. Beginning in the year 2000, Chemsteel plans to invest in venture businesses and join the information and communications industry. |
