The company is related to the parent company Cosmeticos Elicina which is based in Chile. The company was launched in Chile in 1980. The Bascunan family who had a snail farm with the main objective of raising snails for export, discoverd the beneficial effects of snail secretion on human hands. The snail handlers noticed how quickly even minor cuts healed without infections or scars and the unusual softness of their hyands. Dr. Fernando Bascunan Ygualt conduced a rigorous scientific study of ´´ Helix Aspera Muller´´ Snails extract confirming the healing process of human skin. The product was patented by the World Patents of Invention in Geneva Switzerland, that was when Elicina was Born. Elcina was launched successfully into the South American market in 1995. Elicina UK was opened in 2002. The product is totaly hypoallergenic effective on Acne, Stretchmarks, Keloids, Scars, wrinkles and razor bumps. Just to name a few uses.
