　'Chilli Processing Trade Zone of Jiaozhou, Qingdao' is located in Jiaodong Town, Jiaozhou. It is an industrial zone with trade feature, newly set up by relying on the “chilli town of Yujia village, Jiaozhou”, the biggest modern open wholesale market of chilli. The 'chilli town' is flourishing, enjoys a widespread reputation and has customers from other provinces, cities and autonomous regions except Tibet stationed here throughout the year. With high color value, thick flesh, moderate taste, abundant nutrition, non-poison, the main products, chilli and its products find a good sale in more than ten countries and regions, such as Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc. as well as every province in China. The annual turnover is more than 500 million Yuan. The “chilli town” is the biggest distributing centre of quality chilli and the export base of the relevant serial goods at home.

　　This zone centralizes the 'chilli town' as the centre. It lies in the north of Jiaozhou-Jinan railway, in the south of Jinan-Qingdao expressway, in the east of Tongsan expressway and is close to Jiaozhou Bay loop highway to the south. It is 48km from Qingdao Harbour, 40km from Qingdao Qianwan port, 30km from Liuting airport. The total planning area is 133.33 hectares, which is divided into three special-purpose districts, processing, trade and life & amusement. Among them, the first stage of the project of processing district has developed 33.33 hectares already and realized “five supplies and one smoothness” with the investment of 3 million Yuan. Since the first project settled here in June of 2001, 29 chilli-processing items that are invested by solely foreign-owned company, joint venture and nongovernmental business. Among them, there are 16 solely foreign-owned company, which are mainly come from Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, etc. These items cover an area of 32.13 hectares, newly-built factory buildings of 70000 square meters, have planned gross investment of 70 million Yuan. Up to now, 25 items are under construction, more than 20000 square meters of factory buildings have been finished, and 8 items have went into operation.
