Shanghai Trading International Ltd.. T. I) is a fully registered company in Hong Kong and Australia(PtyLtd. ). In Mainland China it is a registered regional representative office, which is the only method that current Chinese law allows for foreign companies.

S. T. I. Began trading in China in 1999. Early days for S. T. I. Saw it involved mostly in printing&packaging and plumbing and building supplies. In the early days of S. T. I's trading it was basically a 'one man band'. Peter Cain founded this company and operated all aspects of the company from sourcing to pricing to QC to shipping. Today S. T. I. Employs 8 people on a full time basis.

S. T. I. Has access to over 400 factories through out China. All factories used have export licenses and most have ISO approvals. For the purpose of forwarding goods out of China, S. T. I. Employs one of the largest Government Foreign Trading Companies in Shanghai. By law every item that leaves China must pass through one of these companies. The strength and power of this company is of great importance. This company protects the interests of S. T. I. Against inferior products being exported. They have the power to sue, penalize or even close down factories why try to 'cheat the system'. This is a significant issue for not only S. T. I, but also for the end customer.
