Fully compliant with itu-t h.264, or ISO/IEC 14496-10(mpeg4part 10/advanced video coding standard), baseline profile at l3 targets low-end devices for stored playback or streaming and supports progressive video, main profile at l3 targets broadcast quality video and supports interlaced and progressive video, b frames, multiple references, cabac, bit-stream interface at the nal(networkadaptation layer) unit level. Step digital's h.264 codec is one of the fastest h.264 codecs in the world. With the same bit rate, not only the image quality obtained by step h.264 encoder is better than wm9 one, but also step encoder is much faster than wm9.
