Introduction

Until recently, centaur focused on the distribution of local motorcycling accessories and related goods to the motorcycle retail outlets. The local product line is limited and in order to obtain the next level of business expansion the need to diversify into the distribution of imported products is essential.

Most of the major brands are already represented in south africa, generally at a premium price. There is an opportunity in the market to introduce new brands at competitive prices. It is this market that we are focused on and eager to enter. Feedback from the retail outlets indicates a high degree of interest in new offerings.

Operations

Centaur is based in gauteng(the largest province in south africa) calling on approximately 60 motorcycle dealers. Our sales representative calls on the dealers at least once a month with the larger outlets receiving calls bi-monthly.

The regional outlets i. E(cape, kwazulu natal) are serviced on a periodic basis(usually every 2/3 months) or as needs dictate.

Value added tax(vat) is also collected at point of entry and is levied at 14%.

Centaur imports is registered as an importer with the south african department of trade and as a value added tax vendor with the south african revenue services.
