About us | handsindia is an associate of Young India Project (YIP) which is based in Andhra Pradesh, India. The YIP handwork centre was formed in 1972 to generate employment for women in rural areas. Embroidery and macram?are the main types of handicraft taught to the women. Socially underprivileged and physically challenged women work in the centres. About 260 women have regular work They come once a week to their group centre to hand in their finished work and take new work, which they do at home, in addition to their housework. |
