Dioctyl sebacate is often used for producing various synthetic rubbers as plasticizer applied in low temperature
We not only offer sebacic acid but also dioctyl sebacate. Dioctyl sebacate is colorless or light yellow transparent liquid with special smell. Its melting point is -55��C, and the boiling point is 248��C. The refractive index is 1.449-1.451, the relative density is 0.91. It is insoluble in water but soluble in alcohols, ethers, ketones, aromatic hydrocarbons, aliphatic hydrocarbons and other organic solvents. It is partially soluble in certain amines and polyols. Dioctyl sebacate is compatible with polyvinyl chloride, vinyl chloride copolymers, ethyl cellulose, polystyrene, polymethyl methacrylate and synthetic rubber.
Functions and usages:
This product is a superior PVC cold resistant plasticizer with high efficiency and low volatility. Besides the excellent cold resistant characteristics it also has good heat resistance that can be used in higher temperature.
This product has good weather resistance and electrical insulation properties, often used with phthalate acids and esters. It is especially suitable for the cold-resistant wire and cable materials, artificial leather, thin film, sheets, and other products.
It is nontoxic, and the toxicity coefficient is T=1000. There is no toxic effect showed after any doses fed to rats, so it can be used for food packaging materials.
Dioctyl sebacate can also be used as low temperature plasticizer of a variety of synthetic rubber and cold plasticizer of nitro cellulose, ethyl cellulose, poly methyl methacrylate, polystyrene, chloride copolymer resin. It also can be used as lubricating oil of jet engines and rocket propellant.
